heirloomtomatoes The Mission Hills Farmers Market CSA Box ProgramThe Mission Hills Farmers Market is on Wednesdays from 3:00pm – 7:00pm on Falcon St between Fort Stockton and Washington. Each week its 20 vendors are busy selling fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seafood, and specialty food items. With all the delicious choices, why not fill up every week with fresh produce! The CSA Box Program makes it easy to do just that.

What is it? The CSA (California Supported Agriculture) Box Program provides you with a variety of fresh produce for you to enjoy throughout the week. You just need to bring your own reusable bag or box, and they will fill it with lots of goodies from a variety of farms, giving you a larger selection of produce locally grown in California. The contents of your box (or bag) will vary, but that is part of the fun! Each week  you will see some new and sometimes odd fruits and vegetables in your box or bag. But don’t worry, you can always trade out items that you may be allergic to, or have too much at home, or simply prefer something else. The goal is for you to bring home a share of produce that you will be happy with and eat all its contents.

There are 2 sizes to choose from. The “Small Share” is suggested for 1-2 people, and the “Large Share” is suggested for 3-4 people. There is also a 12 week commitment to the program. With 12 weeks of fresh fruits and vegetables, you are committing to your health and supporting your local farmers.
