Cinco de Mayo in San Diego

by KenGina Team on May 1, 2014

cinco de mayo 2014 Cinco de Mayo in San DiegoOn May 5, the Mexican state of Puebla celebrates its victory over the French in 1862. Though it’s not an official government holiday, they have a huge military parade. In San Diego, people of all heritages and their friends will hold joyful celebrations with food, fun and parades. Compare it to St. Patrick’s Day when everyone longs for the Emerald Isle, Cinco de Mayo is a day when everyone feels a touch of old Mexico.

Old Town will be starting the celebration on May 2nd, and continuing through the weekend with Fiesta Old Town, the largest Cinco De Mayo event in Southern California. Enjoy food, drink, music, shopping, and fun! The fiesta has a variety of festivities for the whole family, including a special kids area and stage. For the adults, there will be ice cold beer available in the beer garden, as well as high-end tequila sampling. Food and drink specials will be available at all restaurants in Old Town and along San Diego Avenue. For more information, visit:
